“This painting is my attempt to elevate the mundane subject of fallen leaves. Fall is my favorite time of year to experience the complexities of nature—the smell of fresh air, the sound of leaves falling in piles under the tree canopy and the winding down of another year.” Shown: “Leaves Beneath Our Feet II,” watercolor on paper, 16 inches by 20 inches.
