“After gaining valuable knowledge from esteemed instructors at Sacramento State College, American River College and Sacramento City College, I painted horse portraits, which was my goal at the time. Gradually, my interests shifted to abstract art.”
Kate Blue lives in Elverta, earned an art degree and worked in IT for more than 25 years. After retiring she returned to painting and since then has won multiple best in show awards and has been accepted repeatedly to the Crocker Kingsley show and Stockton Art League’s Juried Exhibition at the Haggin Museum.
“I’m not an abstract artist, I’m a realist. Mother Nature is the best abstract artist, so I only needed to enhance what she made.
Anna Barber uses Photoshop to create multilayered textures and patterns out of her own photos, as well as a tablet to add hand-drawn shapes, skillfully capturing fluttering movement.
Paula Bellacera is a contemporary ceramic sculptor, painter and printmaker. This image of Tower Theatre’s and Tower Records’ iconic neon signs was captured with Polaroid film in 1995 using a non-digital technique to manipulate the photo emulsion.
