As an artist and fifth generation Californian, Laurie Winthers is drawn to California’s open spaces. Her work tends to capture a quality of light in the landscape. Combined with a bold color palette, her paintings powerfully suggest the beauty and solitude found in both space and quiet. Until recent years, the artist lived in Sacramento. She now resides in Pacific Grove.
