Donate Now to Help Damaged Downtown Businesses Recover
The community may now make tax-deductible donations to help small, locally owned businesses in Downtown recover from damage and theft incurred during looting and vandalism in late May and early June.
To jumpstart the recovery efforts, the Downtown Sacramento Partnership has expanded its recently launched Storefront Safety Assistance Program to issue Downtown Business Recovery Grants as soon as possible to vandalized and/or damaged businesses.
Seeded with a $30,000 contribution by the partnership, the program will issue grants up to $1,500 to businesses in the 66-block district managed by the Downtown Sacramento Partnership property-based improvement district to directly cover the cost of insurance deductibles and storefront repairs.
Funds will be dispersed until donations are depleted. Downtown businesses can learn more and apply at downtownsac.org/recovery.
To donate, visit godowntownsac.com/donate or mail checks made out to the Downtown Sacramento Foundation to 980 9th St., Suite 200, Sacramento, 95814.
