Phil Gross has shown oil paintings in numerous regional exhibitions and galleries. He is former artist in residence in Yosemite and a UC Davis graduate, with a studio in Davis. He is known for his Northern California landscapes. The cover painting is a partreal/part-fantasy composition along the Sacramento River about 15 miles north of Knights Landing.
