Peter VandenBerge is one of California’s most important ceramic sculptors. His large busts are thin and elongated, displaying inspiration from Amedeo Modigliani and Alberto Giacometti. Most of VandenBerge’s pieces are hand built in the coil method of clay construction. He taught ceramics at Sacramento State University for more than 30 years and lives in East Sac.
