For 25 years, The Kitchen has been the ultimate dining destination for the Sacramento region and beyond. Innovative and unmatched for pure culinary enjoyment and genuine hospitality, The Kitchen serves a five-course prix fixe seasonal dinner menu featuring the best and freshest ingredients available, mostly procured locally and regionally. The executive chef and staff present the menu in a lively, theatrical demonstration format. Guests are invited to stroll throughout the open kitchen, chat with the chefs, visit the wine cellar and relax on the patio. Husband-and-wife chefs Randall Selland and Nancy Zimmer, along with their grown children, Josh Nelson and Tamera Baker, founded The Kitchen Restaurant in 1991. The Selland family was among the first to emphasize farm-to-fork dining to the Sacramento restaurant scene. The quality, commitment, and passion that the Selland family brings to The Kitchen have created a landmark restaurant that has sold out nightly since its inception. The Kitchen Restaurant has earned every imaginable local and regional award along with an impressive list of national accolades, including the AAA Five Diamond Award six years running, a nod as a semi-finalist for the James Beard “Outstanding Restaurant” Award, the highest Zagat ratings, and honors from Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast, as well as inclusion in the Yelp Top 100 and the Open Table Top 100. Now, The Kitchen has brought the Michelin name to our region, the final word in premier dining praise, claiming Sacramento’s very first Michelin Star in mid-2019.
