Reminiscent of the classic American lunch counter spiced with a millennial flavor, Cafeteria 15L serves an eclectic array of comfort food that foodies appreciate. Lunch favorites at this Downtown Sacramento restaurant include elevated delicacies such as truffle tater tots, French fries served in faux newsprint, macaroni and cheese, Caesar salad, meatloaf and the enduringly popular French dip sandwich, tossed back with a glass of plantation iced tea or house-made fruit punch. Dinner resolves any cravings for buttermilk fried chicken strips or onion strings, chicken and waffles or braised beef short ribs served with mushroom risotto. And there’s brunch, where chocolate banana waffles, brioche French toast, inventive skillets and benedicts indulge all appetites. Designed by the interior artists who brought the look of the W Hotels chain to the world, Cafeteria 15L features two plush outdoor patios, a comfortable lounge space and large areas dedicated to private and semi-private dining, plus the main dining room. Reclaimed woods, industrial light fixtures and an array of mixed and matched chairs create an atmosphere whimsical and cozy. The familiar cafeteria has never looked cooler—another success story from the local Wong family of restaurants, led by brothers Mason, Curtis and Alan Wong.
